Kosuke Masuda
The first time we saw Kosuke Masuda’s craftsmanship, it was intricately carved into the frame and components of a bicycle from cycling brand/collective MASH SF. We delved deeper into his work and discovered that he is an artist of many mediums, including traditional sumi ink, with which he often creates paintings of bicycle culture. He recently reached out to us to let us know that his work is now available through the newly launched online art gallery Macomos.

“Kosuke Masuda (b. Yokohama, Japan) draws upon his dual roles as both a Shingon Buddhist monk and professional artist, to create strikingly original artworks across a variety of media.
Particularly fascinated by the form, materials and culture of bicycles, much of Masuda’s work incorporates aspects of this in numerous ways, from his Japanese sumi-e brushwork on paper, to microscopically detailed engravings on componentry.
Kosuke exhibits throughout Japan, as well as internationally. His work is featured in numerous collections around the world.”
